Mirage Elementary SPDG update April 18, 2008

We have been tracking students with the Arizona rti website in both ORF and math. This is mainly in 3rd and 4th grade. This data is shared during data chats with grade level meetings and used with Individual Learning Plans to make recommendations or adjustments to intervention.

We have scheduled a kindergarten transition night for incoming kindergarteners. We also have a list of local daycare providers and a letter will be sent to them the first of the week. We also will be handing out fliers in the neighborhood to try to get more students registered and attend our informational meeting. We will also have a move up day with the preschool that is on our campus. Headstart and Community preschool are working closely with us to contact parents of students who might be attending Mirage in the fall.

We will be doing our spring DIBELS, math assessment, and MAZE during the first week of May. The results will be put on a spreadsheet for the students who have Individual Learning Plans. We will look at the results to see if the intervention provided was effective.

We are trying to get Quarter Mile Math networked so we can collect the data on students form one computer. Currently, we have to go to the computer the student uses to get information on their performance.

The reading team has completed a five year plan for reading, writing, and math. We will be updating the kindergarten transition piece. This will drive our professional development for the next year.
