Description:
Aug 2008 K-8th Teachers (9 teachers + 1 student teacher) attended RTI training held by our RTI coach which covered overview of RTI (refresher) and how the 3 tiers fit into reading and math.

During the first week of school our K-6th grades (172 students) were tested with DIBELS. Our 1st-6th grade (150 students) were also tested with RTI math fact fluency. 2nd-8th grade (175 students) were tested with Scantron. For reading 39 students were placed into Tier 3 interventions and 98 students (this number includes at risk/ strategic students) were placed into Tier 2 interventions based on these assessment results.

Classroom assistants were trained on phonics, reading room and read naturally interventions which will be implemented from 7:35-8:05 four days a week in intervention rooms.

Interventions and progress monitoring started the 3rd week of school for these students. The RTI coach created folders for each student which will be used to document time and date of interventions. The RTI coach will also monitor interventions for fidelity.
