Description:
The RTI Committee met to discuss plans for the upcoming school year and to analyze the
process that was implemented this year. In attendance were the school
counselor, the school psychologist, the principal, the two intervention teachers, and the special
education teacher. The main topics included: Target Grade Levels, Universal
Screening, Analysis of Universal Screening Data, Research-based Intervention, Progress Monitoring,
Evaluation of RTI Effectiveness, Data Tracking and Analysis, and Personnel. Thomas
School will expand to fourth grade next year, and will include math as well as reading. A
preliminary team of people were named to administer the universal screening and it was decided
that the library would be used for screening to ensure the most accurate results. The
district is currently working on developing a menu of interventions from which schools can choose
to use. There is the possibility of using a classified person to help with data input as
well as some intervention groups. Some final decisions will have to be made later in
the summer when a final budget has been approved. |
