Description:
UA / ADE Teacher Mentoring Project for Special Educators Coordinator Mentored individual
teachers (13) and provided support via website and email to special education teachers on
emergency certifications or interested in mentoring in three (3) school
districts in Southern Arizona. Over 100 teachers were provided with indirect mentoring
via the website in TUSD, over 21 emergency certified special ed. teachers in SUSD, and 2 in
AVSD. The partner districts were: Sunnyside Unified School District (SUSD), Tucson Unified
School District (TUSD), and Altar Valley School District(AVSD). In collaboration with the
school districts' administrators for professional development and special or exceptional
education, all special Education teachers were sent information on the website:
http://www.uacoe.arizona.edu/mentoring/. When teachers contacted UA
Mentoring Project, all were provided with assistance on certification, AEPA, courses, teaching
strategies as requested. Coordinated activities with relevant administrators in each
school district. |
